A Retrospective of my Time on DeviantArt
I've been on DeviantArt for a long time and gone through many stages as a creative. I'm now in my thirties and pursuing my first published book. DeviantArt has been a big part of my growth as an artist. It was the first time I really shared my poetry and explored putting my art out there. It had been with me through breakthroughs and awkward stages of discovering myself as an artist and I'll never forget that or stop appreciating that. You might think I'm leaving but I'm not. I've just come to a realization that I'm really changing as a person and entering a new phase completely as a creative. My ambitions,interests, and talents are in a completely different place than they were years ago when I joined DA and for that reason I wanted my presence on DA to change with me.
I can't say for sure what this new phase will look like but I'm really rediscovering my love for writing and art in a big way now. I want to try new things and get back to things I love but most of all I want to take some time to hone my skills and redefine myself as a creative with a 150% effort.
I truly appreciate anyone who took the time to read,comment, or favorite my poetry over the years. I won't say I'll never write another poem in the future but I'm really looking to expand my horizons and try writing books. I'm also going to be pursuing more of my passion for character design. I hope that if you are a watcher or a friend you will stick with me in that journey because I still have a very special place in my heart for the DA community and plan to remain part of it for as long as I can and revive this account with new creations that show how much I've grown with time as an artist and as a person.

I’m currently looking to pursue self-publishing my first book. the Character Designer’s Journal. It’s a book series that I hope will change how people look at the art of character design that takes a unique inside and out development approach.
Fictional characters are a huge part of a lot of projects we encounter everyday whether it’s a book, television show, comic book, manga or even a play just to name a few. Every creator wants to make a character that will be timeless and that’s why I began this project.
We live in a time where the creative book market is actually over-saturated with books that will tell you how to draw any kind of character in your head but a truly memorable character is more than just looks. Like people the characters we remember,relate to and latch onto are realistic with personalities, backstories, and quirks among other things. Character design is an art but as easy as it is to find a book to help you visualize your character there are very few that teach true character design.
As a freeform roleplayer, writer and general creative person I began to notice that shortage and began to develop ideas for the Character Designer’s Journal. My goal was to create a resource that would appeal to a wide range of creatives and teach the full spectrum of character design. The book will not only take a dynamic approach to visual design techniques but also delve into areas like cast creation, concept development, character profiling, and much more!
In addition to the main book the series has planned companion resources like an exercise workbook,body shape reference guide,resource disc, and pocket guide.

DA Watch is Back + Other Junk
Unfortunately life hasn't been fair to me at all lately. I've become rather sickly and lost my job and credit card companies keep calling....
I'm just like... "When I have money you'll be the first shitters to know about it..." and they're like "Give us a call when things change..." which somehow translates to call multiple times every day to get the same explanation again. But enough about life because it sucks a lot right now....
The good news is I still have tons of stacks of deviations in my watch pile and lots of time to share them.
The struggle might be really real but at least I have some good art to distract me!

As before when I do the shares I rarely have time to stop and comment but I do occasionally tweet it and favorite so you might know I was there. I'm just sharing a whole bunch daily and not a set number but I try to mix it up and share a bunch of varying deviations.
If you have a good recommendation (not yourself) that you think I should take a peek at please let me know their DA name and I will take a look. Since it is Twitter I can't share anything mature and I generally avoid fanart or anything hugely copyright infringing unless I really just think the fan artist did something new and unique with their work.
I'm also not sharing any games,videos,music,templates,scraps,sketchdumps,full comics and unless extreme exceptions I tend to not tweet adoptables or sprites unless again it's really impressive and fresh.
Because I don't really have time to skim or review I'm also really not including written stuff in my tweeting. This may change in the future.
Lastly I can't tweet anything produced via a dollmaker,dress up game or base (including bases themselves) just because I tend to find them somewhat questionable in creative value. I realize they are creative media but I focus more on fully original art.
I do technically tweet out photos but I'm pickier about photo manipulations. It really just depends on what that artist is bring to the table in that area like all the other things listed above. I also occasionally will tweet tutorials I find impressive.
In terms of my personal projects and streaming I've had to really put everything aside to address my mental and physical health. I spent the last half of 2016 and all of this year dealing with my bipolar being a misdiagnosis and I'm actually on the autism spectrum which is part of what lost me my employment. On top of that I still have fibromyalgia and my seasonal depression which I have to go cold turkey with since I no longer have insurance. It's gonna be a rough Thanksgiving this year.....
In the meantime I will be working on sharing as many deviations as possible and finding solace in art.
In case I forget to pop back into this site and update the journal for another year I hope everyone has a happy all upcoming holidays.
Also I'll be married for a whole year on October 31st because that happened.

Misc. Project Updates
- HaevenArts is now fully unveiling in September.
- The DA Group has been deleted because I just couldn't foresee managing it and the regular community. It also seemed like a conflict of interest to me...

Short Update on Missing Journals
Edit: They mysteriously reappeared after I posted this entry but I'm going to watch for a day or two to make sure everything is really fixed since it did this before too.Especially since one of the past journals really is mysteriously gone when I didn't delete it and one just magically duplicated itself.
